"Backbeat" is the debut single by Dagny, primering on on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 Radio show in September 2015. It was released as a single from her debut EP, Ultraviolet. The accomapnying official music video was posted to YouTube on May 31, 2016, directed by Malia James. Its acoustic version was released on September 16, and featured in the soundtrack for the TV show, Grey's Anatomy.
Regarding the song, she stated, "From the day we wrote Backbeat it's been a track full of energy. When I play it live it allows me to really let go and this is how I hope people will feel when they put it on."[1]
